I have been using Spybot Search & Destroy version 1 for about three weeks now and have updated to the new version 1.1 for five days now. I am not a computer tech by no means. But this program seems to be very good. I run it along side of adaware but I think I don't even need adaware now. This program helped me to get rid of some stuff that adaware did not find. It checks for bots, trojans and phone dialers such as the porn dialers. It gets rid of usage tracks. You deceide if you want to fix. It also checkes system internals and brings up some registry errors. Then you deceided if you want to fix it or delete it (as some are invalid entries that were missed by reg cleaner and easy cleaner). It's a pretty nifty program. It lists what it finds and you can study the list and deceide if you want to let it run or fix it. In the excludes section you can check the ones you want to run (who would want to) but I suppose if you want the porn dialers you would want to exclude them. It also has a hosts file (rather large) and takes forever to d/l but it stops the pop up adds.

The really neat part is you can d/l it with its own installer or you can d/l it to a folder you create where ever you want it. Execute it and everything that it creates is right there in the folder you d/l it to so if you want you can uninstall it through the control panel, then delete the folder you created and its all gone. I think I read about it for two months before I actually d/l and used it but now I am glad I did. It can be d/l from  http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html  If that is not clickable go to  www.lurkhere.com  click the forums link and you can read posts or click the Nicefiles download button to take you to d/l it.

It seems like a very good program now. Lots of downloads. Just thought some of you guys might want to check it out, especially in view of the fake adaware crap that is going on right now. It's free and fairly easy. If I can figure it out you experts can . The developer is actively involved in providing help also. It seems to me other programs I never even know who the developer was. I was so skeptical to begin with I even d/l it to a folder then ran the av on it to verify no viruses.
