Posted: Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:22 am Post subject: How Do I Terminate My Yahoo Web Mail Account? |
|
|
I've had a web-based e-mail account with Yahoo for the last couple of years, but now that I use another e-mail provider that better suits my needs, I have no use for my Yahoo e-mail account.
After logging in, I couldn't find the area where I could permanently cancel my Yahoo account. Could someone please provide details on how to delete my Yahoo account?
Appreciate it,

Deleting Your Account
Yahoo! members can remove their own accounts and account information from Yahoo!. Please follow the instructions below to initiate the deletion of your account.
By terminating your account, you will lose access to your Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Mail, and profile names. We will also delete your account data and settings across the Yahoo! network. This includes any contents in:
Yahoo! Mail
Yahoo! Address Book
HotJobs
GeoCities
Yahoo! Briefcase
My Yahoo!
Yahoo! Groups
Finance Portfolio
any other area of Yahoo! that can only be accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password
Please be sure you want to delete your entire account as you will not be able to reactivate it once the account has been deleted. You are always welcome to sign up again for a new account.
Terminating your Yahoo! account does not alter or delete your Yahoo! People Search listing http://people.yahoo.com/ , which you need to edit or delete http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yps/details.html yourself.
If you are subscribed to any premium services, we recommend that you first cancel those premium services before you delete your account. There is no guarantee that deleting your Yahoo! account will immediately cancel the billing for any premium services you may be subscribed to. To cancel your current subscriptions, visit Yahoo! Billing Information https://billing.yahoo.com/ for your account, choose the "My Services" tab and click the "Cancel" link for each subscription.
To remove your entire account, please visit our Account Deletion https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user page. You will be asked to sign in to or verify your password for the account you wish to delete. Please be sure to read the next page carefully, as important information about your account is included. You can then confirm the deletion of your account.
If you're having trouble signing in, you can get password help at:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/edit/edit-10.html
Please complete the deletion process only if you are certain you would like to remove your entire Yahoo! account and any features you have personalized within the account. Once the deletion process is initiated, your Yahoo! account can never be recovered.

| Yahoo allows you to have as many Yahoo ID accounts as you want, but you can only be logged into one at a time. It is not required to give out personal address/phone/work info. The Yahoo Toolbar should not interfere with Norton, although the Anti-Spy might. It is your choice not to use it. If you don't have problems using Ad-Aware, you shouldn't have problems with Yahoo's Anti-Spy. It is also not required to use the Yahoo Toolbar, but it should also not cause problems. Maybe you have other Spyware/trackware downloaded. |

Attention all those who want to cancel a Yahoo account:
Please do NOT post a username, password, any account information, etc.; or post that you would like your account to be deleted. Freedomlist cannot cancel your Yahoo account on your behalf, as we are not associated with Yahoo or any other such company. You will need to go to the appropriate Yahoo page for that, which is in rgm714 's Post , above. _________________ Don't buy Clearwire! |

| Sign into your email account, then at the top right select options. In the option window that appears, in the left column select Account Information. You will be asked to sign in again then you can edit whatever you wish. |

Please let me know how I can do that. | First determine if the new Yahoo ID is available by initiating the process sign up for a new Yahoo ID account and then change the ID in the existing account manager if available. ......... A second option is to sign up for a new Yahoo ID account using the same password as desired. An alternate email address is required (not Yahoo) to activate the new account. ..... Email client forwarding should also be reviewed as required. .......... Juno/Netzero, Inbox and others do not require an alternate email address for sign up and activation and are free. www.juno.com , www.netzero.net . |
