F/L info says they have a 20 hr or less per month plan for $9.95 per yr ($.83 per mo.). Is this plan still available? It's not listed on their website. I've sent an email but haven't received a reply yet.
Sorry, no, I don't believe that plan is offered anymore. That information was changed in the Freedomlist listing, but it looks like there may have been a glitch. We'll try to fix it again soon.

VTISP is the same company as VTrocket and NATISP and ISPbooster, etc. (I know there are a couple other names they use too). It's all just one company offerring a very diverse system of plans. The cheapest way to go for "High Speed" dial-up is NATISP ($71 for a year... $5.91 a month for HIGH SPEED) while you could also combine ISPbooster with VTISP and come up with almost the same plan for an even lower $69 a year (minus a few bells and whistles).

But for non high-speed service this is the best deal around. Add ISPbooster if you want high-speed.... and it's still the lowest around (NatISP is very close though as I said, and it's all the SAME company anyway).

Not a problem. However, I been here a long time and I know which ISPs will succeed over the long term. Talk to the airlines or phone companies and see if they are making money!

lol I'm sure market studies have been done before they decided to go into this venture. In business you don't setup something involving over 100,000+ people all over the country then move the goal posts and change the rules, it's bad for business and it haunts you down the road. OK how about this...I'll use Dialup.cc for now, if they change the rules then I'll see ya at VTISP.com...how about dat? ; )

Let's see...hmmm...VTISP.com $3.95 for 150 hours a month and Dialup.cc $4.94 for 400+ hours per month (and 3 POP 3 accounts/Virus & Spam protection)? 250+ hours per month more for 99 cents...hmmm...I think it's a "No Brainer, you No Brainers."

Yes, but how long will  www.dialup.cc  be able to offer such a low rate before they either start limiting hours or go out of business? Remember, they have only been in business offering this service since August 30! Talk to me in about 10 months from now.

None. You can go all the way up to 150 HOURS per month. You can't go above 150 hours per month.

My father has used this service for the past year. I am getting ready to sign him up for a second year of service (thought I would check freedomlist first Smile ).

He has never had any trouble getting connected and the service has worked great for him.

Though he is retired... speed is not a priority Smile.

We are using this service in a suburb of Chicago.

Ditto! I have had this one for about a year this month and a fantastic deal. Too bad it is not available in every state.

Grin I personally cannot see how ANYONE could dislike this ISP! The connections are fast and dependable, and the customer service is very good. Not only that, but I have personally NEVER had any hassles trying to cancel; and I've done that several times. Try doing that with any other budget ISP in America, and see what they tell you. The first thing they'd probably do, is ask why you want to cancel. If you said, because you were having problems, they would likely try to connect you to tech support. Even worse, you might have to argue with them on the phone for 15 minutes. Or, they might offer you an extra month free, or some other ridiculous ploy, to get you to stay with their service. I mean, get real, people! 150 hours-a-month for $3.95? That's what you call a S-T-E-A-L! Believe me, I've tried just about half of the under $10.00 ISP's at FREEDOMLIST, and nothing even comes close to being as good a deal as this one. The only reason you MIGHT be having problems with their service, is because you either don't have adequate memory on you computer, or because you don't know how to set up dial-up networking. Aside from that, there's no excuse. But I won't rant and rave all day. Just give 'em a try--you'll like the. They're good people. Have a nice day, everyone! Wink [/b]

Well, on the Freedomlist it is checkmarked as having usenet.
I'd be willing to pay a little more for usenet access. To me, usenet is part of internet access. When it comes to really cheap isp, sometimes the annoyance factor can outweigh cost benefits.

NO, never! What do you expect for $3.95/mo?

I have used VTISP for almost a year with no problems. They have recently started to block port 25. Their web site mentions this and tells users to use an alternate phone number to connect. Port 25 on the alternate number has been blocked for at least six months. Repeated (at least five) attempts to contact support regarding this have been unanswered.

If everything works, this ISP is fine. If you have problems, you may be on your own with no support from VTISP.

Go direct -  www.stowetel.com  for $5 bucks! They are the primary ISP supplier to VTISP and they provide support via tech ticket.

We've had VTISP now for 2 months & really couldn't be happier. It's very simple & cheap and we've never had a problem connecting or being bumped off. I highly recommend it. There's no e-mail addresses included or webspace, but that's not what we need. All dial-up should be this cheap.
