Have used ISP.COM for several months without complaint or error. As a long-term online business owner I am impressed with the quality of service and recommend this company if you are looking for reliable no hassle connection.

ISP.com has 5 access numbers in my calling area which access 2 backbones. This is more numbers than ANY other provider available in my area.
Their dialer is excellent because it minimizes to system tray instead of task bar (you can configure DUN if you'd prefer), it keeps a log file of connections - stating number called, connect speed, time of connect & disconnect, duration of connection, and reason for disconnection (ie: user request, dropped).
Good connection and download speed, optional "show status" displays a small window showing dl speed.
NO busy signals, few disconnections but I attribute them to phone line quality. 5 hour connection duration and average of 15 hours usage per day exceeds my actual online usuage - except for occasional large downloads for which I disconnect before the 5 hour limit, take a couple minute timeout and reconnect to complete dl. No problems at all encountered with this ISP, which you can see - I highly recommend!!

Signed up a month ago and it was easy to configure manually for Windows 98. Don't write a review unless you really understand DUN! No problems, and their home page does not give you any cookies. Two access numbers in my area (Tacoma), both work up to 49,000 speed. I might just stay with them for a few years!

I've had this service for 4 months now and have absolutely NO complaints. Sign on has been fast with no disconnects at any time. I use the Netscape 7.2 browser with this service and it is great. It's probably me but it seems to be faster then Foxfire. At any rate, this has been a great isp and expect to continue with it. Smile

This is not Unlimited Service as they Claim.
We market ISP.COM service as unlimited, but not dedicated. Dedicated usage for the purpose of our TOS is an average of over 15 hours a day worth of usage based upon a 30 day monthly cycle. If you use the service as dedicated, we reserve the right to inform you that we may no longer service your account. We are a consumer service, and not designed for people who require an "always on" connection with long periods of inactivity.

Post  Title: ISP.com terrible support

Guest

Looking at all the messages some say it is great others say it stinks. I guess it must be location specific and great in some areas. Here in St Louis it stinks. I am getting 3K/s on a 12.95 high speed connection. But even more dissatisfyig is the terrible support. I tried email first and got answers back each time after a day and they were pat answers that weren't doing anything for me. Then I tried calling them and the message said I am first in line for help. After 9 minutes I was still on hold!! To all those who are doing well, if you ever do have a glitch, good luck getting help!! For those like me who are getting terrible performance I need to find another service provider

I live in Toronto. I signed up for ISP.com service yesterday. And, I tried to connect to their server, at least 20 times, at 8pm at night. And I got connected only once, that also at 1.2kbps!!! Can you believe it? I disconnected today morning. They said they would revert back the charges on my credit card. But, I'll wait till I get the refund reflect in my online credit card statement.

I've been using ISP.com for 16 months now and am still happy with them. I have 5 numbers to choose from and they cover all the backbones available in my area. If one is having problems, I just switch to another. It's like I have five isp's to pick from!

I just signed up with ISP.com and it is faster than my old one. My old ISP was bought out by Charter (the cable company) in 2002 and now they are going to discontinue their dial-up service. I went with ISP and they are faster than Charter dial-up ever was.

I signed up for isp.com in May 2004 mainly because i was having probelms with my previus isp (aaris.net). The price seemed right and i wanted another unlimited service since i share my connection thruout the house. Their TOS was vague on how much time they considered unlimited. Anyway, the connection was as fast as i can get on my phone line and i never got dropped. I thought all was fine. However, on June 1, I got an email from the isp complaining that my usage was too high. I implemented their suggestions to auto disconnect when not in use, and installed a remote disconnect utility on all my house computers so we could disconnect from each client when nobody else in the house needed the connection. I thought this helped, but at the end of June, my login was disabled. When i called isp.com to find out what happned, they basically told me my account had been cancelled due to exessive usage. I though that was what happened, but did not like not getting any email notice that they were canceling my account. Anyway, during my time with them, I did convince two relatives in MD and PA to sign up with them. The only problem they have had is we needed to change the dialup network number so they could send attachments via email. The phone numbers that supported v.92 would not work. When we changed to the other network, attachments worked fine. Go figure. Lucky for me i had not canceled aaris.net and am still with them. They still have an occasional problem (no notice dialup number change, email server down, etc) but they have a true unmetered service. I have never had any hassle from them about being online too long, and they don't have any vague time limits in their TOS. Have been with aaris.net since 11/2000.

I have been using ISP.com for over a year. At first, everything went very well but now for the past two or three months I have had constant problems getting on-line. It is easier to get on-line at odd hours (e.g., early Sunday morning) and in spite of their tech person trying to convince me that it was my computer that was causing the problems, I am convinced that they have oversold their service and are way over their capacity to handle it all. I am considering other options and trying to decide if I should go to a free e-mail service so I don't have to change e-mail addresses if I end up going through this same trouble with the next isp.

I have been satisfied with isp, until recently. I always have trouble connecting, and recently I get disconnected within 5 seconds. Then try to reconnect to only get error saying the computer did'nt answer.
I live in Georgia in a small town , I guess we aren't important enough to have a good isp.
I see a lot of people satisfied with isp, but I noticed that all comments were posted last year.
I guess they will find out soon.

Although I don't use isp.com, "Unlimited" means you can dial in as many times as you want that month. Stating they 'don't have any caps on the number of hours' means there's no set number of hours in a month after which they'll disable your account until the next month - many ISPs have either a 150 or 200 hour limit.

I have used MSN and AOL previously. I switched to ISP.com because I needed POP maill service. I am very pleased with ISP.com service for two months. I live in the Lehigh Valley of PA. Set-up was easy. Locally, my connect speed is 36 - 40 kbs with few enough dropped connections that I do not recall when I was disconnected. Once I forgot to logoff and 24 hours later I was still connected. Checking mail when I travel has been very convenient using web mail. I like the idea that ISP.com is national if I move. AOL & MSN by comparison would drop the connection at least once a week. Locally, AOL and MSN usually drop connections in waves on peak times of evenings and weekends. The fastest AOL connection I ever saw was 31.5 kbs and would often drop to 20 kbs on the weekends. I am VERY pleased with ISP.com and recommend them to family and friends . I have experienced BETTER service at a much lower cost. I will stick with ISP.com for the forseeable future.
