Ya, I too was a happy 650DialUp customer for many years til the service suddenly went down without warning on Saturday morning, December 5. What a disappointment as the service was excellent. So I signed up with NetZero, at $14.99/month, and am very disappointed. Their speed is unsatisfactorily slow and they have taken over several pages...like the homepage and the default search page...with their proprietary pages. And they have unwanted ads throughout. What a bummer.

The web mail has not been accessable
since November 2008.
Called tech support 5 times. Always the same:
"The server is down and we don't know when
it will be fixed."

They have an unlimited program but I think they cut you at 200 hours and you have to call and request a temporary username and password. They said they would do this as many x as you needed in a month. There support is in India, they do not understand American thinking, so if you think your making sense to them forget the effort. They just have 0 clue what your talking about.

I signed up with this ISP, and immediately had problems with their SMTP server. I called their tech support. She was useless, and I spent a few minutes trying to explain the problems I was having before I realized that she didn't even know what a SMTP server was, let alone what it did or how to fix anything. I called back and got a guy, who was also useless. After spending almost 25 minutes on the (not toll free) phone I requested that they just cancel my service. He REFUSED!!! After requesting it a few more times I asked to speak to his supervisor. He refused!!!
Needles to say that I will be fighting this one through a stop payment on my credit card!!

I had 650dialup for about 2 years and never had any problems connecting.
However, their e-mail did not work about 75% of the time. This applied to both POP and web based e-mail. Other than that, I was happy with it.

Great service since last October. Two days ago, service just stopped. No explanation. Tried contacting them but there phones don't connect and they don't answer any e-mails.

at first, service was good. then after a couple months, it slowed way down. then they canceled my service.
i imagine it was because i went over their unlimited usuage policy.

I've been using 650dialup for about two years. Initially, the service was very good. It was so good; I referred a number of people. To date, only two remain customers. As of lately, my connection speed has diminished considerably (from 48-49.2 kbps to 46.6). Doesn't sound like much, but with dialup, every little bit helps. And yes, my line is fine. Email is NOW terrible! I'm continually receiving tons of Spam mail, addressed to other individuals and accounts with 650dialup. I've sent two messages regarding the problem to 650. Three days now, and no reply. Looks like it's time to find another ISP!

I had the service from 650dialup for 3 months - it worked fine for a few weeks, then stopped working - but they have not yet refunded setup fee.

I live in an area where we only can get dial-up service and having had bad luck with other ISP's I decided to try this cheaper service. I have been using the 650dialup for over 4 years now and have had very good service. The email has worked fine and connections have been good with the exception when there are downed lines in this area. If you are going to use a cheap dialup service then expect technical support to be almost non-existence (how else can they supply the service so cheap). If you cannot configure and troubleshoot dialup then cheap dialup services is not for you (these users need to go with a hand-holding isp like AOL, MSN, etc...).

I have been using 650 since may 2004. At first no problems but since july 2005 I have be unable to connect with their access numbers on many occassions. The email service is very unreliable and the tech support is poor. Todat I spoke with someone named sam who said he was owner, which I doubt. He was very rude when I explained I can't access the email and insisted I change my computer settings or find new isp. After few hours was able to get email and then the same problem occired. Very poor customer service

for just 6.50 a month, it is definitely worth it. if you are having trouble with their emails, just use yahoo or hotmail, which is 100% reliable. had to get a temporary acct when they said abt a 200hr limit, it's just ok. for just $6.50 i dont really need to abuse my right to use the service every single day of the month. tech support is ok, though there are some agents whom i cant understand, they get to solve my problem anyway. if you are a cheapskate and is expecting more for just $6.50, then dont sign up with them.

For the 1 year that I have been with 650dialup, I never had the problems you encountered. I used to subscribe for more expensive ISPs whom I can't even get a hold of at all. With 650dialup, at least I could talk to support.

I've been a customer for 2 years. Only use 650 when you need it, saves you the hassle and it's worth it. I'm not about to waste more money on other providers who give me same amount of SPAM anyway. Let's face it, they offer good enough of a service for the money.
