The service is either good or bad. When it''s good,
you can log on forever. When it''s bad, it''s either
hard to log on or just keeps dropping!

Use it for the free 90 days, then move on!

I signed up for this service and it was excellent,
simple dial up connection, took 1 minute to log on,
but the connection was great, the web pages loaded so
fast, faster than any service I used. Perfect for
about 2 months, then alot of problems after that, so I
cancelled. They told me it was just my area, I wish
that didn''t happen, I was really happy with the
connection I was getting. Maybe they will fix the
problem and I''ll give them another try.

After two free three-month stints with this isp have decided to keep.

Yes, the logon process is a little slow (dialer dials, then it takes about 30 seconds to begin the handshaking - easy to falsely conclude it''s a dead connection)... yes, the connect speed is sometimes as low as 45k or so... yes sometimes the connection doesn''t \"take\"... but...

It is a truly unmetered service... once you are connected you can surf for DAYS untroubled (they encourage, not discourage this)... there is a great redundency of pops in the SF Bay Area (I can dial 4 pops as a local call from SF)... network security seems to be good... it is a TREMENDOUS backup isp since it doesn''t use one of the primary nets (uuNet, Qwest, etc.) which could be down... and in spite of the connection speed sometimes being a little low the actual throughput is good.

If you ever do something where there are times you absolute MUST be able to connect (such as trading stocks, for example) it''s a good idea to have a backup isp with none of the same facilities as your primary isp''s, which may be down...
and if you are a heavy user and uuNet is your primary it''s also good to have another to help spread out the 150 hours... in any case I decided to keep Fry''s after six month''s experience. NOTE IS SF BAY AREA ONLY!!

I signed up about 2 weeks ago and now I'm already having trouble logging on! At first, it was pretty good but for the past week I have only been able to log on about every other day. I'll give then a day or two to get their act together. After that I will cancel and move on to another ISP if things don't change.
