Post  Title: 3 Web

Petit Jean
Guest
3 Web is sometimes(you may have to dial 2 or 3 minutes to reach the service) more difficult to reach or stay online in late afternoon or early evenings week days.If traffic is heavy you will sometimes be disconnected . You can connect as many times as you wish with a time limit of 6 hours at a time. After almost a year of daily use in the Montreal,Quebec area the 3 Web service is good for e-mail ,chat , small downloads or larger ones as long as you have resume option available(use special programs for this available on the Web). The service can paid for a year by money order using regular mail. The service is cheap and affordable and makes 3 Web Internet a viable alternative for families on a tight budget.

first the bay sears and canada post arent exactly software giants and they probably didnt check it out ,do you really think yhey check out every thing they sell? they saw an oppotunity to cash in and did.. it what business does.
second applying a patch is contingient upon actually being able to connect.. or am i wrong?
third isnt modem config. part of the tech support job?
isnt thaT WHY THOSE ULTRA SUPERIOR FOLK are paid
isnt that part of what the consumer is paying for?
fourth running a help desk is alot less expensive with no customers. tthose MEATHEADS who are laying their money
down to feed your superiority complex.
free ad ons and online help ONLINE not much good if your not connecting. so you and the PUKE arent working there anymore ..gosh , and with your company spirit and
attitude ...pity
the software is sold as easy access with automatic set up
and friendly tech support to guide you step by step.
is that too much to expect for your buck?
no costomers equals no business

thanx i have taken many courses ,and set up and repaired more computers than you have brain cells deary, and frankly all i can say to your claim is ..that.. you are wrong.
also those are the things we have all come to expect to here from "tech support" . my advice to you is to get a real job
and come into the real word. and dont speak unless you have knowledge.

was it only in manitoba , that canada post was selling 3web
disks for ten bucks ,with the promise of free foor life internet?
it even said share it with a friend, but iif you tried to
install more than one connection, it blackballed you.
a word of cautiion ,i once won free groceries for life.
the big question is always the life of what, the answer is usuallysome kind of wild card. you get what you pay for
sometimes ..let the buyer beware...and keep on posting
this bisgruntled stuff for the other buyerss, trying to not be taken

Post  Title: Why not V.92 Modem for 3web?

The Fab
Guest
I have some understanding how an Internet Provider has a holding place for modems. Now I ask with all the new tech. always out there and updating my question really is for 3web.

Why not update modems from V.90 to V.92 so we as customers can use that wonderful feature of recieving phones while on line, and not even get disconnected. Provided you keep your conversion short I believe less than two or three minutes.

This would be great I hope 3web does this upgrade with there holding modems.
THANKS.
Fab.

I agree completely with you...I was one of those winners and got just what you said...only my problem was from the very beginning..they could not service me with a dialup number..what a joke...and I was offered the free for a year internet...*but* they did not even come through with that...I' would NEVER sign up with them...I believe the contest was a fraud on the part of C-Plus to get more business for themselves..I was tempted to sue them...I recieve a letter stating 3 Web had gone out of business...

Post  Title: Get off the dialup

RuFFY
Guest
I see everyone complaining about 3 web and all these other cheap services for dialup.. i mean if you are getting free internet or even paying 10 dollars a month, what do you really expect? I use rogers cable and i occasionally have problems with it but usually it's nothing too serious.. and i do tech support for another isp and i can tell you with dialup the problem usually lies with the piece of crap you call a modem that is in your computer or other physical setup problems or even OS issues.. so either take some computer courses and learn something or just get on the high speed wagon... CASE CLOSED>>> have a nice day..

Thanks for the help.

I'm on now

I always connect as fast as my AOL account or faster

AOL was fine but I think once my trial is over I'll switch to 3web

Post  Title: sympatico ***!!

sympaticosucks!!
Guest
the sympatico and rogers employees posting here are pathetic. You guys are so scared of 3web that you have to take the time and post here? LOL

One of the best decisions I ever made was to drop sympatico. The worst customer support imaginable. What sold me on 3web was 3web actually uses the same Bell modem pools that sympatico uses. It's the same service. I connect just as fast as I ever did with spitassico. Paying sympatico 25 bucks when you can get the exact same thing for 10 is just plain stupid.

If 3web gets into High Speed, with the same sort of discount, I'm there!!

If you're on sympatico you are a ***, ***!!!

I have been a member of 3Web fo almost 2 years, and have not had any problems with them.
I always get on the net with my 1st try.
It is worth the $10.00 per month.

Hi there everyone,

Was wondering if anyone else encountered this connection problem:

Dial up is fine, and connect to 3web no problem at first. But then get disconnected after 1-2 minutes (after receiving no more than 800 - 1000 bytes).

I've uninstalled Aol
I've re-installed the connection installation software
I've re-configured the browser (MSIE5.0) so it "automically" detects settings.

Thanks!

Help Desk? No, I did not work as a Customer Service Rep, while at 3web. I'd reveal my identity, but if I did you'd feel bad about making those sly remarks towards me.

My advice to you is to forget about 3web. Trust me when I say that by now that have probably even forgotten your name.

My friend WON free Internet for life in a Cabury Scwepps Soft Drink Contest. A prize was "Free Internet for LIFE"!!!!! ...Of course 3Web would not live up to their committment... They back tracked faster than a Turkey in the sights of a Shotgun!
Offered the 1000 plus winners 120.00 worth of free internet for 1 year. WHAT A JOKE! Boycott 3 WEB for their False advertising and CPLUS softdrinks as well.

Try including enough information in your e-mail instead of "Hi, I want to cancel". The billing line is a free line, not paid. You probably just couldn't figure out how to dial it.

Post  Title: Connection problem

James
Guest
I don't think if swearing and bickering could be a solution even for a wrong decision!
I was encouraged by a friend of mine in our building to get 3web as he did so just 2 days before me and I am so happy that I put it on my Visa and did not go for the annual membership.
To be fair, for the first three days the connection was so so...I got disconnected as I was reading a somewhat lengthy article or later on not even being able to connect and if connected at speeds of below 36k while the Backup Free Netzero does it at 53k constantly...
So this was our experience unfortunately and we put some of the blame on ourselves for focusing only by only on the price but for the 3WEB pople who reply every once in a while on this forum or simply come and check out our comments is adviseable to listen to many complaints regarding their service and try to redtify them...The same "Word of Mouth" that brought you up while you planted the seeds by Free Service will definitely knock you down if the services continue in the same manner as Fun Cow poeple degraded their "Paid Service" ! That is an easy 2 plus 2...
Since I have a few days left of my "May Subscription" and looking for a reliable Low-Speed ISP,just wondering what you folks(users) think of Sympatico dial up or Rogers Lite?
Thanx
