Anyone know a good cell phone deal in the New York City area? I don't need anything too fancy but I would like roaming, etc.

A lot depends on your projected usage. If you will average less than 60 minutes per month, prepay may be the best way to go. (see www.ecallplus.com or www.locusmobile.com ) If you think you will use the phone a lot, look in to ATT or Verizon. Visit the newsgroups alt.cellular (via Google Groups if you don't have a newsreader) and scan the comments on alt.cellular.attws and alt.cellular.verizon, and others.

| www.virginmobileusa.com is a pretty good prepaid plan. $0.25 per minute for the first 10 minutes every day. Then drops to $0.10 a minute. $20 card good for 90 days. |
