I have tried Back4Sure, and have tried SyncToy.
I preferred Microsoft SyncToy to Back4Sure because I can control the destination folder.
Back4Sure just chooses the path as the destination folder.
So what do you think is the best backup freeware ? |

CrashPlan is good. In addition to copying files, it lets you keep a history of past versions of every file. This lets you recover in case something messes up the primary copy, and then the problem gets synced to the backups.
Microsoft Backup can do this too. This is different from SyncToy, which isn't really meant for backups.
Anything that doesn't do versioning isn't really a backup tool in my opinion, but you can get by without versioning if you keep several backups and rotate them weekly. |
