I noticed for the first time, at least in a long time, that I am having an "Temporary Error," which is giving me this message:

Temporary Error 14
ID: SLN3543
Refers to: Mail , Mail Classic

Description

You may see this error text:

Error Code 14
'ServerError'
'ComposeFailed'
'MessageTooLarge'
'TooManyCallsBatched'

Resolution

Occasionally our users experience temporary, transient issues in Yahoo! Mail, and the error message "Temporary Error 14" indicates one of these issues. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Our engineers have already been notified that an error has occurred and are looking into it. We have found that most of these issues are resolved in a few minutes to a few hours. Please try again in a few hours and your mail should be available.

In the meantime, you can try these troubleshooting steps:

Refresh your browser and retry accessing your Yahoo! Mail account. If this does not work, please proceed to next step.
Log out of your Yahoo! Mail.
Clear your internet browser's cache and cookies. For complete instructions, please see this help article.
Close or disable all other programs and browsers running Yahoo! Mail (for example, if you have your Mail open on your mobile phone, log out there.)
Close and restart your web browser.
Log on to your Yahoo! Mail.

Note: Temporary errors can be caused by browsers that are not supported by Yahoo! Mail. Please ensure that you are using one of the following browsers and operating systems:

Windows XP, Vista, and 7:

Internet Explorer 8.0 and newer
Firefox version 3.5 and newer
Safari version 4.0 and newer
Google Chrome version 5 and newer

Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6:

Firefox version 3.5 and newer
Safari version 4.0 and newer
Google Chrome version 5 and newer

Has anyone ever gotten this? The funny thing is, I can get into my My Yahoo section--just not the mail. Mad Evil Roll Eyes Opps

I have Firefox 9.01 and am using Windows XP. I think this problem is on Yahoo's end and, for the most part, their email service has been good.

I hope this isn't a trend. shock

Glad it is sorted out.

I was having an update error (Microsoft Update) last night. When it happened on one computer after two had updated with no problem, I thought it was my computer. I tried several times, and even rebooted but I kept seeing the same error. Then I fired up the last computer to need updating and when it had the error, I knew it was on the web site and not my computers. A few hours later, they both updated with no problem. But there is panic for a few minutes when you think something on the computer is wrong.

Well, it looked like several others in my area were having this error 14 which just lasted for about a couple of hours this morning and slowly, but surely, folk were able to get into their Yahoo Mail. LOL

The funny about this Yahoo Mail thing is I could get into the My yahoo area, no problemo. Wink

Funny thing is, I rarely, if ever, have any real problems with Yahoo. no matter what their corporate or financial problems they may have. Confused

I encountered Temporary Error 14 between 11:30 & Noon - Windows 7, Opera 12 browser. It was the very first website I tried when I turned the computer on today but from past experiences with website problems, I deleted all the browser data (even though I do that before every system shutdown) and tried again. I was able to check that account on the second try but later efforts to check another account encountered similar problems - the mail interface would partially load then switch back to show a problem, it did this a couple times before the mail interface fully loaded. POP3 worked OK when I checked my isp mail - Frontier now uses Yahoo for mail. Frown My later check of webmail around 1:00pm worked with no error message.

Yahoo gives me the message that I'm using a browser that they haven't tested with Yahoo Mail - Opera 12 - they did the same with the last update, too. In spite of this, I'm able to use the "new" Yahoo mail. They seem a little slow to test new Opera versions.

You know, I thought that those problems I had with Yahoo Mail only were over but it looks like they have returned. Except, this time, there is no Error 14--it just won't let me in. Frown shock Confused

Anyone else having a similar problem? I can get into the "My yahoo" area--like before--no problem but their mail servers seem to be acting up.

I've checked across the internet to see if this problem is a big one or not.

You don't think that these mail problems with Yahoo have anything to do with the numerous sun storms that are occurring, causing all sorts of electrical interferences here on earth, do you.

 http://lightyears.blogs.cnn.com/2012/03/08...hit-earth/
 http://blog.nj.com/ledgerupdates_impact/pr...ading.html

I know this happened back in March, but the residual effect are probably still happening. Boo hoo!

Oh, how nice--Yahoo Mail let me back in. shock Must be literally in the stars, although this is the year of the Dragon. Wink

Logged right into Yahoo, with unsuported OS and browser, on the first try....

I was getting some bad connection speeds for the last few days, but I assumed it was a consequence of using dial-up, in extremely high humidity, with too many dusty phone jacks in the house.

Strange:
Spamguard is ON.... There were 40 undeleted messages in the "Spam" folder.

I have no problem auto-logging in to Yahoo Mail with cookies enabled in the latest FF.

Like Pete, I have my spam protection set to immediately delete any incoming spam. However this hasn't worked for weeks now. I started a ticket with Yahoo and they claim to be working on it...over and over. So far no change. I use Mail Classic in Win7.

This is from 7/23, lol. Maybe the "engineers" have the summer off.

Hmm, I didn't know that there were such problems with the Yahoo Mail. I'll note that.

Thanks for the information, frapper. Wink

I'm still getting the spams in the Spam folder even though I have it set to immediately delete them. I think the Yahoo "engineers" stole Casey Jones' locomotive.

Spam appear in my Spam folder and I too have it set to delete immediately.
I guess they still stick to the choice that they will remove the spam if it is 7 days old.
Maybe I will test it by not emptying my spam folder. After all, it is their storage space that is being wasted on mail I never intend to look at.

That's what I did. I left it full. I didn't want it to appear empty if the "engineers" decide to take a look and then think, "Oh, it must be emptying itself immediately". Bunch of yahoos.

There's no danger of that happening to me.
I deleted 24 this morning, there's 2 more now...

BTW: If you take advantage of the Western Union payments and the Lottery promotion, you'll get plenty of romance without the Enhancement inches, or the university degree.... Devilish

How do they know 2-4 inches is enough? One size fits all? Oh well, at least I won the lottery (without entering).

I looked at the dates and 5 of the 8 spams are sent on dates in the future. Now if only 1 of them would tell me the winning lottery numbers for that date in the future.

I took another look and the one was sent in 2038! Can't a spam filter, on Yahoo's end, simply not deliver anything with a date more than 1 year in the future?

okay, it has been more than 3 days and sometime between last night and this afternoon, Yahoo dumped the contents of my spam folder.
They don't empty immediately but, in my case, they emptied before one week had elapsed.

I'll report back the next time it is emptied by Yahoo.

It's probably not a "Friday Night" thing.

I just found 47 messages in my spam folder, Most from the past two days, but some older.

BTW: There were 8 from the "future", but unfortunately none of those were stock tips.... Frown

My spam was dumped after midnight (ET) on Sunday. It appears that after 3 days, Yahoo empties the spam folder.
