I have a friend who has DSL through Juno, even though the phone service is Verizon. Every time there is a power outage, her dsl modem doesn't work for 24 hours!
I'm still trying to help her troubleshoot that. Juno support had her try lots of things but nothing seems to solve the problem. I still suspect Verizon is somehow involved.
She sent one modem back to Juno because she was sure it was defective; turns out the new modem does the same thing. |

Since I'm home for Thanksgiving weekend, I'm able to chime in with a reply.
I contacted Eltopia by phone in late September. They are still in business and did not close.
Poetworld is still working here, with the same access numbers. My e-mail addresses through Poetworld also still work. The service is still being charged at $7.95 a month. Everything over the last couple of months is going just fine. _________________ Poetworld subscriber 2002-2012.

I'm guessing the OP was someone who was using close to 150 or more hours per month, which skews the average cost per user.
Glad to hear things are still working Jason! _________________ Independent, Refreshing. |

Actually I only use perhaps 2 to 3 hours daily. 80 hours a month would be about tops. Thats why vtrocket 120 hour account worked for me as a replacement. I didn't do videos or music stuff... just general info surfing.
Perhaps P/W was just bailing from my state. |

Oh hi everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that my Poetworld account was canceled April 30, 2012.
Not my idea; my mother was mostly using it these days while I'm out-of-state at a university, decided to dump both CenturyLink and PW at the same time. Actually a bit surprised Eltopia would accept the cancellation request from someone other than the name on the account.
BTW, I changed the thread title to indicate the local access for the original poster was ending in 2010, family and I received service for a year and a half longer than that. _________________ Poetworld subscriber 2002-2012.

It was "officially" gone quite some time ago, but I guess some old accounts remained active. _________________
