The scans seem to come up nothing for that dll.
My computer has not worked this good for years. Thankyou, I owe you a gratitude hug if I ever see you in person.
AVG is now up to version 9 and the user console is called the AVG User Interface. the rest of the procedure is the same to disable the Resident Shield.
So how do I stop the drive by downloads? (Other than avoiding porn sites ).
Google Chrome is now working again too. |

I would be proud to accept a {{{HUG}}}, especially from a long-time friend.
Glad the dll is ok. I wanted to be sure. First for the cleanup, then the advice.
Please do the following to implement cleanup procedures an also to reset System Restore points:
Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:
ComboFix /Uninstall
Note: In the event you wish to contribute to the ongoing development of ComboFix, the developer is accepting donations via PayPal .
The rogue infection could have been from the vulnerable Adobe or Java software that were on your computer. If you used uTorrent recently, that is another possible source.
There may be other out-of-date 3rd party software on your computer. Now that it is running good, now is the time to check if your system is missing security updates or has insecure applications installed, visit http://secunia.com/software_inspector/ . The Secunia Software Inspector runs through your browser with no installation or download required and does the following:
- Detects insecure versions of applications installed
- Verifies that all Microsoft patches are applied
- Assists you in updating your system and applications
I suggest you install and update SpywareBlaster to prevent the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html With the free version, you'll need to manually check SpywareBlaster for updates every few weeks.
I know you recently upgraded to IE7 and have put off the move to IE8. Now would be a good time to make the move. _________________ Freedomlist.com (March 1, 2000 - 2013)
