This week being boxing week and all, I have been walking to work, checking out stores/sales and then walking back home slowly, sometimes chatting with old friends that I meet.

Unfortunately, my pet parrots want me back home from work ASAP and don't like delays. Last friday when I came home, they were so angry with me that they had thrown my PC mouse down on the ground and chewed the mouse chord in half. This inspite of me going to buy toys for them from a Toy Store on Friday. They don't like my PC mouse as I tend to spend time infront of PC and ignore them. The PC mouse chord is something that they can access really easily and chew.

So, incase they chew away the entire mouse chord, I might be off from FL until I get a new USB mouse. Might be a good idea to grab a few spare USB mouse while I am at it if I see sales. Hope they don't attach any other chords. Really frustrating sometimes. But then I can't miss this season either.

Whew !! Whew !! Quite frustrating to be honest, I don't wish to be offline for this reason.

Vijay

Try a wireless mouse, Vijay.

Happy New Year!

Great suggestions from both Corrine and you. My birds have cage, however prefer not to lock them. They have freedom to go where they please. Will not curtail this as they appreciate this, they like to spend lots of time on TOP of the cage and wander only very little.

If I remove the mouse or get a wireless mouse, they might go for other things. So I prefer they go for the mouse as it is cheap to replace. I will grab 2 or 3 USB optical mouse when on sale.

By the way, I came home today on time and everything was in place.

Thanks again and regards to all.

Vijay

You should get a wireless mouse and attach a piece of string to it.

Birds can be sometimes smarter than you think they are. It would be better to plug in the old chewed mouse while you are away and plug in your new one only when you are using it in the room, otherwise keeping it safe in a drawer. They might recognize the string as a ruse.

I have found that you can plug in two USB mouses at the same time and it does not seem to affect the operation of the computer, so you can leave the old mouse plugged in as a decoy. Just hope they do not figure out how to use the keyboard and start stuff ordering online.

Exactly, this is what I figured I will. The whole thing is kind of a pain but for certain things in life there is no escape. I was about an hour late home today than usual. Came home, changed clothes and started having a sandwich, just peanut butter and banana. The birds started screeching, I couldn't even eat in peace, had to stay with them and eat infront of them. But atleast they didn't get this mad to get to the mouse. They are all playing now. I am guilty, need to interact with them more for sure but holiday season spirit and snow storm etc., are exhausting me.
