I have used 3web for just under 1 year off and on. 1 year ago the service provided was remarkable. Now though, their service is terrible. Multiple busy signals; auto disconnect after 20 minutes regardless of activity. No prompt what-so-ever. I believe that they are nearing or exceeding capacity and will most likely close their doors within the next few months. It is too bad, they once had a great thing happening. Just for kicks - ''the ads were unique and kicked all other fisp''s asses'' Thank-You 3web!!!

3web is pretty good here in Toronto. U can connect for like half a day without being disconnected. But, there a few drawbacks.
1) the banner is wayyyyyyy too big.
2) if u kill of the banner: most of the time, they can find out and u get disconnected.

Otherwise, 3web is super. I hope it survives for a few years.

For the past few weeks 3 web has been disconnecting on me every 15 minutes. For a long time I haven't had any LUCK downloading anything!!!! It always disconnects in a middle of something. I do admit 3web has a fast connection. However, the fast connection does not really help if you waste your time doing something and all of a sudden being disconnected!

Wrote 2 weeks ago that 3web maintained the connection without dropping. My paranoia has since taken over: since the updated software that had to be installed, it is too coincidental that 3web often disconnects without warning and at any time - sometimes in 2 hours, sometimes 2 minutes. Makes it tough if downloads are not resumed, or chats are interrupted or e-mail compositions are cut or on-line orders are stopped (did the charge go through?). But for the CD purchase, it is free; however, a warning that the service will be disconnected would be welcome so an orderly exit could be planned and done. It seems as though the previous complaints from other parts of Canada are valid in the Sherbrooke region of Quebec. It's back to a paid-for service ...

I'm in the Sherbrooke area and have had this service for 3 months. But for the occasional slow access, I have never been disconnected after logging on. I rate this an 8.

currently i don't really have any problem running 3web. of all the fisp's for canada, 3web is by far the fastest (in Calgary at least). it also has newsgroup support, woohoo! pings seem to be way better than even 1stup service.

right when they announced that they were getting too much demand, i did notice that it was harder to connect, but even at peak times, it only takes a couple redials.

banner size isn't really a problem for me, considering i run my monitor at 1280x1024x32. the only drawback to 3web is its bloatedness (takes 1/2 my system resources even w/128mb ram!)

considering i haven't paid anything whatsoever to get the service (i d/l'd it a while ago) i am pretty happy.

Sadly Post Office is in on the deal. This ISP is in to make as much money as possible from its CD sales. Split the revenues with its partners (Post Office, HMV)and fold with many empty promises. In Montreal it's always busy.

3Web is a scam. You buy the disk (can't download anymore), install the program and nothing but busy signals-even at 4 am!!! They will disappear like the wind with your money.
