How in the world could you use 50 hours by the next day after you signed up? Did they project your probable usage for the month based on your first days usage?

Good point - Realgeorge. TotalCall sent him a letter?? Totally bogus!!

Total Call advertises on their site that this is unlimited. They sent me a letter the day after I signed up and told me that my usage exceeded 50 hours a month and that they were terminating my account. They also have a 2 hour hard disconnect as has been mentioned here but they don't tell you about it when you sign up. I would recommend finding a more honest provider.

I was using access4less.net since day 1 and I pay 4.95/month until Earthlink buy them out. Since I can still using my old email, so I give them a try. What I find out is I only get about half the download speed as acess4less and I ALWAYS can not retreat my mail with Outlook as my default mail. Finally, 5 days later I then get my email. On top of this, some billing problem with Earthlink made me to find another good ISP from now. I will try the ISP they mention here and see what happened. Will keep you guy post once I have experience about other ISP. By the way, I am VERY happy the service with my access4less.net account. For 4.95/month with unlimited access, there is no other GOOD isp I can find yet. shock

Go here  http://www.freedomlist.com/forum/
and click on the PC Protection section. If your computer dials out as soon as windows starts, you probably have a trojan dialer on your computer and need to clean it out.
When you state the problem, mention what version of windows you are running, what browser you use and software like a firewall, antivirus, adware/malware detectors and trojan detectors you have installed on the computer.
We will help you clean it out. You may be facing a huge phone bill as those dialers call toll numbers.

I was an access4less member and was always happy with them.
I switched to Stowetel and was constantly not allowed on saying my
username and password were incorrect.
After playing around I would get on after the 3rd or 4th try.
That lasted a week until I got sick of it.
Then I switched to TotalCall Isp at $4.95 around April 30th.
Just about 10 days later they informed me I would pay $7.95
this isnt as bad as it sounds as everyone seems to be raising
there rates.
However my problem is when I start windows my internet will be connected without having to dial it.
I have contacted customer support and they told me to change my dialing preferences, which didnt help.
I have also tried a couple of other things. And I have never had this problem before with another ISP.
Does anybody have a solution. I am getting quite upset.
And when I call I never get through.
So Im not happy with customer support.
Any suggestions as how to fix this problem.
Otherwise I am fairly satisfied.
Thanks, Margo

We were one of the victims of accesss4less's sell out to Earthlink. After looking into a new provider, we found Total Call and saw their phone rates. Noting that their rates were an improvement over our current phone rates, we made the long distance switch, then decided to switch our internet access to them. After making the decision, we saw their internet rates jumped from 3.95 to 5.95 for their long distance customers. Since 5.95 was the rate we had at access4less, we decided that it was still a decent enough deal, considering we managed to reduce our long distance costs with them to boot. After 4 days of internet service with Total Call, I can say that it's been totally painless. All our connection speeds have been 52.0 kbps, which is what we had with access4less. We've had solid connections and no trouble. Maybe we could have saved a dollar or two elsewhere, but we're willing to give them a try as long as we're getting a deal in long distance as well. Also, their site is now secure for online registering, after initially being unsecure.

I have the 150 hour plan for $3.95 a month. I must have seen an earlier deal for 30 hours. At any rate, 20 hours a month for for 83 cents a month is still good. Would make a good back-up to replace A4F.

Bruce are you grandfathered at 30 hours a month? It now appears that the limit is 20 Hours/month for $9.95 a year.

Smokey - If you live in an area where VTISP.com is available, you might check out their 30 hour per month deal. It is $9.95 a YEAR which may work for you.

I called TotalCall this morning (Mon, 5-2-05) with the prospect of signing up for their internet service. I had already registered for the "dial around" long distance service back on 4-20-05. In talking with the internet department, I confirmed most of what smokey had already written in his/her review. There is a hard cutoff at 2 hours although one can log back on immediately. Otherwise there were no daily time limits or month usage limits.

When we finally got around to discussing the price I asked whether I would get the $3.95 rate or the $4.95 rate, given that I was already a "dial around" customer. The agent did not know right off hand but he said give me your telephone number and I will type it in to see what comes up. Then he confirmed for me that I would get the $3.95 rate. This was at about 12 noon today (CDT). I told him that I would need to think about the situation more before I signed up.

So now, 3 1/2 hours later their website says the price would be $5.95! WOW!! Talk about fast changes!!!

At any rate, as OG1 has said, due to the 2 hour hard cutoff, this ISP is no longer a great deal, and now with the rates raised to $5.95/$7.95, to me it is out of the running altogether for being one of the good cheap ISPs.

Apparently,  www.totalcallusa.com  just raised the price to $7.95 and $5.95 for TotalCall customers. This ISP is NO longer a good deal especially with a hard disconnect of 2 hours and average of only 6 hours per day.

My favorite ISPs are still:

 www.all2easy.net

 www.stowetel.com

These two ISPs offer the best cheap ISP deal!!

I went to the totalcallisp.com website and the pricing there shows $7.95/month for Dialup and $5.95/mo if you are a customer of their international long distance so this isn't a very good deal compared to all2ez and other lower priced ISP options.
It is impossible to keep up! So much for a great deal!

I'll sign up as soon as my billing cycle with A4L runs out, the 9th. Any else trying it?

A4L will be disconnected unattentionally (like: any day.) They don't offer good service anymore even you your bill cycle has not coming. Be aware.

Unlimited IF "actively" surfing However, you would be suspect if you use big chunks of time 6-12 hours with NO breaks or immediate redials EVERY day. In other words, if you have a random pattern of extended usage that would not be a problem. Hard disconnect at 4 hours.

If you are a "heavy duty" user, I suggest get two ISP accounts from two different cheap ISPs and alternate use between your accounts. Your cost would still be around $10 total!!
