I used it for a while, till it took over my ie startup page and put itself in the search sector too. Annoying that, when you have just searched for another page and freenet comes up instead.

I just joined, have an account with telecom also, with DSL Flatrate, so I don't know what the charges are going to be yet, if they charge me to use another service, I will cancel.
Just wanted to see what they offer for homepages
Will keep you informed if it's worth it.

Beware of free isps in Europe. They don't charge you however you pay for every minute you use the phone to connect to the internet. How do they charge for broadband? I know the uk zaps you pretty hard. How about Dutuchsland.

I´m using freenet for about 3 month. The line is very buisy. some days every 10 minutes the line is interrupted... I think thats too much.

FreeNet, technically, is not free. The call to FreeNet is a toll-free number, however, Deutsch Telecom charges 3 pfennig/minute (roughly equivilent to 1.5 cents a minute). It may not sound like much, but depending on how much you are online, it can--and does-add up. Also, the line is frequently busy.
