I've been using ISP.com for well over a year now. The only problem I had was when I moved, the number they had listed as local wasn't really local. That wasn't their fault though. The national phone registry had it listed as local too. The problem was the local phone company was stalling on the deal. I'm very happy that I've got a local number now. Technical support has been good. I use a couple email addresses. I love having 10MB of personal webspace. The high speed connection isn't broadband, but it helps. Of the several isp providers I've had, they are the best.

Title: Still satisfied
|
|
I've been using ISP.com for about 8-9 months now and still have no complaints. My first post regarding this isp is 3rd from the bottom. Since that post, ISP.com has added two more networks in my area so I know have a total of five different numbers to choose from. All the people I helped sign up for this service are still here also and I never hear anything from them regarding trouble with the service. If you are looking for a new isp, this is definitely one worth looking at.

PRETTY SATISFIED SO FAR Guest
after reviewing the other comments for this company, i decided to give them a try. i was switching from walmart (don't ever try them). i had to write and say that so far after several months of using them, they're pretty good. have had no problems, like connecting, or staying connected, or getting bumped off from staying on a website too long. there's 3 phone #'s i can use----the others they have for our area are being used by netzero and walmart, and i haven't had a problem getting on the internet.

Title: isp.com looks good

scientist63100@yahoo.com Guest
I have had AOL for more than a year, SBC yahoo several months , then wmconnect (a poor clone of AOL).Just three days ago I switched to isp.com
I was surprised to learn that the technical suport besides of been 24/7 , is abailable in spanish too. and free.
I am using Yahoo for my emails (free).I can write my letters in any color that I want. I feel that I will have this ISP for a long time.

Brandon - ISP.COM Sales Guest
Just so you know, if you go under options, Display Preferences, and then change the Email Composition Format from Text to HTML you will have the ability to write the email in HTML and change fonts, colors, etc. We also have a webmail #2 option that you can try if you find webmail # 1 plain, its under the check mail tab, we provide mulitple mail programs because not everyone likes the same thing.

Title: Not so bad
|
|
Guest
I have used AOL, Netscape, Netzero, Juno, Access4Free, and ISP.com. I couldn't connect well with Access4Free and their set up charge was $4.95. At their $8.95 monthly fee for unlimited access, ISP.com is a buck less than Netzero and Juno Platinum and seems better so far. They have an archive system to save mail. Maybe not as convenient as AOL's, but it is $15 less a month than AOL as well. The main thing I don't like so far about ISP.com is the black only font and no graphics for composing webmail emails. But if you don't mind writing plain emails in black font, I'd recommend trying it for the price.

Title: Poor Ethics

jap187 Guest
ISP.Com is a wholesale internet company that is now a reseller as well. They are competing with there own internet clients. The service will be just as good as many of the other cheap isps listed here because they are providing services to those isps as well. I guess they are becoming greedy.

Title: Reconnect?
|
Jim, I'm not sure I understand -- what do you mean when you say you "have to reconnect to internet every timeyou use this service"? ISP.com is not a dedicated connection. In fact, none of the "cheap" ISPs are dedicated connections. Most have a 15-20 minute idle time disconnect as well as a 4-5 hour maximum connection time.
If you want a dedicated connection, I suggest you consider cable.

I won't say ISP.com is terrible, and I won't say it is the best. You get what you pay. With only $9 a month, you can not expect any better. I have to reconnect to internet every time I use this service and I am getting used to it. When I get disconnexted, I can just say, well it is only $9 a month.
I will give them two stars out of 5.

Title: ISP.com, A 5 Star Winner.
|
|
JayBee Guest
I do not claim to be an expert in computers. However over the past half dozen +- years, I have used isp's from Free service to over $21. As of this date I believe ISP.com to be one of the best that I have used. Since loading it on as my isp I have had not one thing I can complain about. Of course it is just a little getting used to the e-mail as I just came off of WMCONNECT and the mail is a little different. I like ISP.com better in every respect.
If you are looking for a Good, cheap, ISP, you can't go wrong with this one. Just my opinion.

Title: Satisfied with ISP.com
|
|
I''ve been using ISP.com for a couple of months now and am very pleased with the service. They have three different networks in my area that I can use, and if one doens''t work or I don''t like the speed I get, I just hang up and try the next one. This is a very nice feature because as we all know, the networks do occasionally have problems. ;) The ability to use several different networks is why I chose ISP.com, and it is really a bargain for $8.95. I have signed up three other people in my area and so far, I haven''t heard a peep out of any of them. That means they''re not having any problems either, because they would call me first (and often!) if they did. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new isp.

Title: The new Talent G!!!!
|
|
kornstar89 Guest
I think the person above works for this company, lol. But anyway, I have been with ISP.com for a week. Even though its not a very long time, the service has been great (compared to Kamudi the first week, grrr). You connect every time with no problems, all v.92 connections, very fast connections, and great tech support (toll free 24/7 tech support). This basically is a new and improved Talent G (if you were a Talent G user, you saw great connections). The only differnce is that you have v.92 connections and tech support.
I couldn't decide on what ISP I wanted to get. I looked at Netzero, but they block SMTP ports and they run their software in the background, wasting your bandwidth. I would highly recommend this ISP guys, its really good.
One downer : it does block SMTP addresses. But, you can use their SMTP (smtp.isp.com) in replace of your old. Shouldn't cause any problems.
