Jerry you must be really, really bored. I would recommend taking up a hobby, maybe sewing or tennis?
Half the posts under Intergate are from you, I'm sure you are their favorite customer, letting the world know about each and every hiccup.
Get a life man.
Sincerly,
Sick of hearing your b!tch

We should all get used to the fact that ALL dialup ISPs provide inconsistent, sometimes deplorable service.
Eventually, by the end of this decade IMO, we WILL ALL be using broadband. The question is though: when this occurs will we experience the same frustrations we have with dialup?
To current broadband users:
I''m curious-- How often, if at all, do you exprience poor service (outages; maintenance downtime; slow, near-dial-up level download speed)?

The Website(s) are down as well. I guess I'd better call my cable company and make the switch to broadband after all. I had been putting it off but I think that now is the time.

Title: Happy New Year - The Mailservers are Down Again
|
|
Jerry Guest
What a way to greet the New Year! No mail service! POP and SMTP both down! More storms in Houston?
This is Intergates weak point. There were 3 mailserver outages during December and January is barely 10 hours old and here we are again! If you depend on reliable email service you may be disappointed.
Other than mail service, everything is excellent. No problems connecting, no busy signals, Web access is great with none of the 'time outs' that I have experienced with other ISPs over the past 9 years.

That's a big stretch Rav.
And calling people a "nasty bitch" isn't always the smartest thing to do in your position either.
Email me at with your username with Intergate, I will make sure you get your $10 refund.

Hi Jerry.
We did have two outages caused by the storms over a two week period as you have mentioned, but everything is fine now. Are you still having problems?
Please email me directly at

Title: Re: What's the problem:
|

Jerry Guest
I would be totally happy with Intergate except for one area and that is the email servers. Since I signed up, there have been 3 total outages in 2 weeks and sporadic outages throughout the time period.
In addition, I am on quite a few 'listservs' (mailing lists..most notably YahooGroups) and I am getting regular notification that Intergate is bouncing my incoming emails which requires me to re-activate my Yahoo Groups account. Noone seems to know why this is happening.
On other fronts...connections and their speed, access to the Web etc. the service is excellent and, the few times I've emailed to support I have received quick responses..usually within the hour. I've also phoned twice and gotten through quickly and was treated courteously by the staff.
If only the email problem would be solved I'd be so happy.

Title: scary epinions.com review :O
|
"What happened was this: I sent a letter with said information requesting to cancel my account. They received my letter and cancelled my account, HOWEVER the following week they billed my account for $10.00 for the month of January (which they should not have done!!). I then sent another snail mail letter and received absolutely no refund or reply by email/phone. I gave up and accepted the lose of $10.00, continuing on with life. About 2 months later I got an overdraft notice in the mail from my bank, someone had used my credit card to purchase clothing costing me over $300. I thought about who had access to my credit card, and the only suspect I could come up with was Intergate.com."
-------
It's really interesting that I'm not the only person who has been billed after cancelling the account. I am going to report Intergate.com for fraud in addition to disputing the charge and warning everyone that I can. No one will do anything over $10, HOWEVER, they do track patterns of fraud and will go after companies that repeatedly scam people. It looks like I'm not the only one. I just hope that nasty bitch that I spoke to on the phone doesn't try to buy clothes with MY credit card number. :O

Title: What's the problem?
|
|
What is all the bitching about Intergate? I have been using them for months -- easy signup and reasonable speeds. But the best thing is the oodles of access numbers. I have been travelling all over the west coast and have found access numbers in niland, CA, and Topaz Lake,NV, and other out of the way places. Even there, I get speeds of 45K to 50K and never get cutoff -- and the price is right. I have also set up my own website with them and have 3 email addresses which all work great. I am a very satisfied customer.

Title: Intergate is bad
|
|
gtace99 Guest
I thought about signing up for intergate. But I am lucky I did not. After reading thons of reviews of intergate on the internet I have found put it is a very bad service. Expecly for email. No wonder they give you 100 email account. I think I will sign up for a DSL/Cable service. To all people looking for a cheap ISP Intergate is not the way. Also I wrote a review about there BBB program and guess what they still did not solve the problem and I send them an email about it like let seeeeeeee about 3 weeks ago and guess what they do not reply and for some reason they send me back the email saying that there service does not excite. What up with that. And when you check out information about intergate at the BBB website guess what they are very bad with comstumer. That was mostly there complantes against intergate .

If the mailserver problem(s) get solved, Intergate will rank as good, or even better, than any dialup service I've used over the past 9 years.

After testing all 14 local dialup numbers, I find that the 'pinging' problem only occurs on 4 of those numbers. The other 10 do not show any evidence of pinging.

Title: cancelling your account
|
I am just going to cancel by sending a letter to my credit card company. Even if you somehow manage to "cancel" your Intergate account, if my experience is representative of the way they treat former customers, they will just try to slip fraudulent charges on your credit card thinking you won't notice. Save yourself some trouble, and anyway, the credit card people are nicer to deal with. :)

I notice in the TOS that you cannot cancel simply by calling. You MUST send a snailmail letter to the company headquarters. I've never heard of such a thing with any of my past ISPs.
