Telus is dead Guest
Telus had built a new optic pipeline a few years ago and now is trying to recover the cash it used. They feel not enough people are willing spend $500 a year for internet services.

to get rid of the big banner ads just go to this website http://elusivemasquerade.cjb.net/ and download the program that is called beware of dog. this program will get rid of the $%&* ads in Netzero, Bluelight, FreeLane, DotNow, Juno, FunCow, 3Web. Some of these are free isp's, but juno is the best !!!!!!!!!!

Title: Canceling accounts is NetZero’s new business
|
|
Andrew Hawkins Guest
Yeah, I got the same letter \"…it has become too
expensive for our company to provide you with
Platinum Internet access”. I PAID for 6 months in
advance (under the ''unlimited plan'') but they are now
weaseling out of that aggreement. Of course NetZero
in it''s 3 year history HAS NEVER TURNED A PROFIT so
this makes perfect business sense to cancel PAYING
customers. Here are some suggestion:
1. Quit tracking and data mining users Internet
activities (see link below).
http://www.cybertarget.com/cybertarget_capabilities.ht
ml
2. Stop advertising that NZ is half the cost of AOL, MSN
& Earth Link. It isn’t! Those companies offer unlimited
access…you don’t.
3. Please disclose that NZ Platinum no longer
includes ‘unlimited access’. And make it clear to the
public exactly how many hours are included in the
Platinum plan.
4. Get rid of the permanent toolbar. No one uses it and
it’s a major annoyance.
5. Show some integrity. You’re the one that offered a 6
month service plan for $49.95 and I PAID YOU in full…
so stick to the freaking agreement.
6. Stop charging $9.95 for the NetZero CD-ROM.
Nobody else does.
7. Stop charging $1.95 a minute for phone support.
Nobody else does.

Title: DSL or cable is the way to go at least in Canada
|
|
Thomas S. Guest
Why would I want waste my time connecting to the
internet at 40 kbps? When the service was free and had
fewer banners I could justify that pain (you know free
stuff - can''t complain). Now I pay for DSL 35$ CAN and
I am happy surfer, can download stuff without thinking
twice about the size, preview mp3''s while downloading.
I actually save a lot of time (ex. download 5MB virtual
java machine - 6 sec and done with it) can use Linux;
can use my phone while on the internet.

Title: Cheap guys
|
|
Chris Guest
I had an account with netzero before but since then
they decrease their service, quality, etc. Now, they
offer only 10 hours? it is nothing but $9.95 US dollars is
too much for us as for Canadian users. Also, while you
using, they interup you so you have to start over again.
So, think about and try www.3web.net which is
Canadian dollars of $9.95.

Title: Unlimited, yeah, right (sarcastic)
|
|
Mushroom Guest
We received the exact same notice today. Apparently, if
you use the internet for more time than they like, they
discontinue your service. And this after just one month
ago when we gave them $150 for 15 months service!
Maybe someone there needs a dictionary to define the
word \"unlimited\". If they only want you to use a certain
amount of hours each month, be honest and up front
about it beforehand, especially before they collect
money in advance!

Title: Read this before forming any opinions!!
|
|
Super Nerd Guest
Dear *********:
We regret to inform you that based upon certain
factors, including the cost of telecommunications
services in your area and your pattern of usage of our
service, it has become too expensive for our company
to provide you with Platinum Internet access. In
accordance with the terms and conditions of your user
agreement, your Platinum account will be terminated on
December 30, 2001. Your account will automatically
revert to our standard free service, including email
with your same member ID, on December 30, 2001, if
such service is available in your area.* If the free
service is not available, we are unable to provide any
service, including email, to you.
We provide you with this notice to allow you ample time
to establish service with another provider. If you wish
to terminate your account prior to December 30, 2001,
simply reply to this email, leaving the text of this email
in place, state your desire to cancel and your account
will be terminated within 5 business days.
You will automatically receive a refund of any fees you
have already paid for any period of time remaining
after your termination, which you should see within two
billing cycles of your credit card or within 30 days if you
paid by check or money order.
Sincerely,
NetZero
*Free service limited to 10 hours per month per
household. Service
not available in all areas. Additional phone charges
may apply.

Title: bum steer
|
|
mkt Guest
Totally misleading advertising for this company. I
think a better company name would be Netmisleading.
They put so much pop up ads in their regular non-
paying version that you have to sign up for the cash
version (merely because you are sick of the annoying
ads and the crappy service). And when you do, they
charge 15 $ a month for a service that continually
cuts out or freezes up your machine. That''s what I
call a bum steer. Think I''ll be shopping elsewhere
for an honest, quality isp.

Title: its good
|
|
gotoali Guest
netzero came out as a winner among all those free isp
pioneers.
Most of us enjoyed its free reliable service. And now
I think it would be mean and cheap of us not to give
them back some of the rewards Netzero deserves. One
way to appreciate is to signup for its $9.95 plan.
Keep it up Netzero!!
