what in the hell are "Soft session limits (4 hour minimum sessions lengths)"?

...does this mean that you absolutely HAVE to use it four hours at a time?

...and does this "session limits" thing mean that you can only use it for a certain amount of time before they remove your accessibility? (and for how long do you lose your accessibility? when do you get it back?)

Still using Dodo dailup and have been for about 3 years but only because it is cheap. Not really happy with it. Originally my 70mb/mon allowance only counted the downloads. Then it started counting the uploads as well. Now a very short time on the net burns up mb like crazy. Dodo's site is graphically intensive so that you use up your allowance just getting there and talk about slow. Tonight on a 56k modem my average download speed is about 5k/sec. Last year got conned into upgrading to broadband by overseas call centre because "You special deal because you valued customer". Checked the deal out that night and it was exactly the same as a new customer signing up over the web. Next day called to cancel and was directed to special number where I waited on a computer queue for 56min, however was able to cancel. Luckily this guy was a local Australian and was able to have an intelligent conversation with him. Had considered going onto broadband now that we have a new computer but after reading this site, I have now totally crossed DODO off the list

We have had nothing but trouble with every aspect of being a dodo customer.
From the beginning they were charging us everything twice, then fining us because funds werent available. They DO NOT do anything they say they will. Their is absolutely NO communication between departments and even when they have supposedly fixed something...do not believe it, because it WILL NOT be fixed..guaranteed. We left the "Services" of dodo and we are still getting harassing phone calls from overseas, non-english people who are demanding payments for things already paid. Even now they are sending us bills and we are with Primus now... It has gone on for over 4 months now and we have spent approximately 8 - 9 hours on the phones trying to fix the numerous problems. DON'T USE DODO they are nothing but the most INCOMPETENT, FRUSTRATING AND INEPT company I have ever dealt with. I hope this forum saves even one other person the PAIN. They have never gotten a bill right, ALL the communications are lost or misunderstood. THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!('Devilish')

I was silly enough to sign up with dodo as well. A 12 month contract with 6 months for free only to have dodo change it to an 18 month contract. On requesting to listen to the voice recorded contract dodo said that they had lost it. So to cut along story short I complained to the N.S.W. OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING (www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au) and the problem was eventially resolved with getting a full refund for myself. The point of all this message is that if you take dodo on as individuals they'll screw you about. Why not get the benefit of all those taxes you pay and let a governmental body go into bat for you. God bless there little elected souls

If only I had read your comments on this site before I tried to sign up to Dodo, I would have missed out on the biggest mistake of my life.
After first calling, and talking to a nice lady about the options availble, I hung up to review the choices. Once decided on the best optoin, I called back, and, proceeded to sign up, . However this time there was a gentleman who appeared very gruff and rude, with an indian accent. Not sure however if this person was in australia or india and the money was taken out of my credit card immediatly. We were promised a 7 day turnaround. 1 week passes, 2 weeks pass, no calls. We call back, this is when we realised that we should never have called Dodo. Average wait time as a cusotmer is around 50 minutues (I called 4 times, to that is 200 min of my life wasted). Finally we got onto someone, who told us it will take another 2 weeks. After waiting for 3 weeks (this time up to around 10 calls, average wait time 50 min), we were told by their call centre staff (that I now know is located in the philippeans) that there is no way in which our hosue can be connected to ADSL (after confirming 3 times inthe past 4 weeks that it was not going to be an issue).
We are now promissed a full refund, but yet to see it..

DONT CHOOSE DODO!!!! PLEASE!!

Dodo ADSL: Bad customer service

Dodo ADSL: False promise of service. The public should be warned.
Other's experiences:
 http://www.productreview.com.au/showitem.php?item_id=1649

My experience:

On their unlimited plan: You start downloading until it get to 1G and then the service starts to have ‘problems’ and you can’t connect anymore.
When you call technical support, they give you a phone number to call only to find that a machine answers and ask you to leave your phone number. And then no one call back.
When you call customer service, you speak to a person, they redirects you to a blank line and then you hear a dial tone. Which means the line hung up.

I spoke to a customer sales representative called Steve(sales department 1800 008 636) to pay the bill using credit card. When I asked him to select a plan for the next month, instead of having to call back, his reply was : “ You have to call back next month to select.” And then he hung up on me. This is the kind of service Dodo provides.
I have never spoke to any customer service person who hangs up on the customer.
And then later I find that my service was suspended. Even though I had just spoke to Steve 5 minutes earlier to pay for that month using my credit card.

I am on a 3 months contract with DoDo. I still have 2 months left to go. After this kind of customer service I get I will not be using them after the 3 months period.

Note: If you disconnect before 3 months they charge you a disconnection fee $100.

Don’t sign any long term contracts with any ADSL Provider unless you are sure that you trust the service.

You always get through to the sales department on this number:1800 008 636. Ask for Steve

Ive been with dodo on dial up for 3yrs, i had a phone call from them with 'special deals' for broadband & also talked me into changing home phone, every charge & every plan he said was a lie, he had changed it all to make it sound better, im disgusted with their customer service & their sales dept. it has taken me a week to fix all the problems up when i could get thru to them!!! I have cancelled everything now & have found another provider that is honest & reliable!!!!!!!

I have been helping a friend get online & in the end I used dodo.
I bought one of those $14.90 prepaid cards.
When the same computer was connected via iprimus voi (voice over internet) would work with msn messenger.
Now using dodo it says "making the voice connection" but it is never able to complete it.
question -does dodo work with voi for you?

I too find it extremely frustrating when wanting to use the interent via DODO I have to wait until peak period is over. I also find it frustrating that attachments (funnies) fall out or take so long to open that I don't bother. I have only noticed this in the past 3 months. Before I was able to open attachemnts very easly. The person below wrote exactly what the problem is - the BIG users are trying to worm the small ones out of business hence dial up users. I have no need for broadband! Come on Bigpond, etc, give us small ones a fair go. Smile Give us the speed we deerve!

I am about to cease using Dodo's services. I only use the home computer once a fortnight. When I do I find on those occasions that I can't get dial up coz of the overload of competing users Confused This means that I am paying $9.90 a month for practically nil access to the internet. Frown I wonder if the big players in the communications game have invested heavily in cable and have had to find a way to pressure modem users into signing up for cable. Is that possible? ...mmmmmmmm

I find dodo super unrelible in peek periods - 7pm to 9pm
slow on downloads and almost impossible to connect in these times. Cheap but frustrating.
