Thanks

I have lost the connection a few times and on other occassions, it took four or five times before I could actually connect. The other problem is that if you open your Browser or mail programme, your computer doesn't recognise your connection to Livedoor. You have to connect first and then your computer should recognise the connection. You cannot use Windows, Internet Explorer, etc. to configure up a Dial Up connection. You have to Download livedoor's own connection Programme befor you can connect. When I inquired to Livedoor about this, their response was it Is free! I suppose they have got a good point. Overall, I have found Livedoor satisfactory and it sure beats paying! I would highly reccommend for all you Nihongin out their to go for it and connect. You won't be sorry. Just do it! Congratulations Livedoor and Keep the Good work up. I'm sure you will wipeout the local Japanese Providers! |

I am based in Japan and I use a Tokyo connection to access my service.
I am very interested in your FREE service, and I would like to keep it
that way.
I also have a papal account that is OK to use. If other service such as web site provisions have cost. Please let me know more about your service and if and when I can make the
change. I may also be interested in your web site management.
I recently opened stangilbert.net with nethollywood.net and my temporary site
is:

Thank You,

I have not yet used this ISP in Japan, but did sign up from the US on the Internet. This ISP is technically free, but you do have to pay the phone call charges, typically 8.5 Yen/3 min. during prime time (8A-11P), and 8.5 Yen/4 min. the rest. At an exchange rate of 105 Yen/$1US, it`s $1.62/hr I also believe that if I had not been able to provide a verifiable address and telephone number in Japan, they would not have processed my application for service.

Title: Good Japanese FISP
|
|
Josh Guest
I travel to Japan once or twice a year, and this FISP helps me a lot. It is really nice to have a reliable good FISP here in Tokyo. The ad is not big, and they have menues in both Japanese and in English. Install is quick and easy; no hustle. I like it very much. Gives free email access at , and pop3/smtp access is also easy and nice as well. Web Mail area can see some improvement but over all I would give an "A" for this service.

I found that livedoor.com is so helpful since I am the one who always go to japan for business.
Since I really don't know how to register for any access providers, that caused me inconvenience to get detailed information from my company in my home country.

Title: Live Door is Great!
|
|
Jeff Shein Guest
I recently made a trip to Tokyo, and needed a free ISP to keep in touch with my family in the USA. I found LiveDoor, and signed up. They have english instructions, and the sign up was incredibly easy. They only asked for a user ID and a password. They never asked my name, address, or any data that could be sold to marketers. They do have a banner ad, but it is tiny. It's about the width of a scroll bar, and it sits on the top of the browser. The connections were good (as good as you can get in a hotel!) and never disconnected on me. LiveDoor worked very well!

Title: Livedoor owns the nation!!!
|
|
lieber Guest
Despite livedoor.com being extremely new to the Japanese market it has been voted as the no. 3 provider. This astounding statistical tidbit encompasses ALL providers in the nation. Access points are limited but on the increase. Network speed is superb. I have been using it everyday during peak hours for 5 months now, and have NEVER experienced a single disconnect. The user POP3 mailbox is great, although it has a 10MB limit. I believe that there is going to be user homepage fuctionality added soon (50MB per account!!) All in all I think that livedoor is a force to be reckoned with. A word to other free ISPers in Japan -FORGET IT! Livedoor owns the nation!!! Another word to the happless, hopeless, helpless mecha-onchi Japanese nation of surfers- GET A FKN LIFE, you are all getting reamed! It is about time that this internet inept barren wasteland of a nation got a free ISP. The real question is when are companies like Rakuten Ichiba going to be outlawed? The internet is supposed to be FREE, you scumbags. 5man a month to add a page to your p00p portal...someone should assasinate the MoFo. Free Yourself
